Text Diff Checker
Compare two texts line by line.
About this tool
Text Diff Checker compares two plain-text versions line by line and highlights additions, removals and changed lines. It is useful for proofreading revisions, checking copied content and understanding small document changes without uploading either text to a server. The comparison is literal; it does not judge which version is correct.
When it is useful
- Review edits between two drafts.
- Find a missing or newly added paragraph.
- Check configuration or list changes in readable text.
How to use it
- Paste the earlier text into the first field.
- Paste the revised text into the second field.
- Run the comparison and read removed and added lines.
- Copy or save the version you intend to keep.
Quality and privacy notes
Normalize line breaks when text comes from different systems. Reflowed paragraphs can appear as large changes even when the wording is similar. Sensitive text stays in the browser in the current implementation.
Important limits
- The tool does not understand meaning or grammar.
- Moved lines can appear as one removal and one addition.
- Very large texts may take longer to render.
Frequently asked questions
Does it store my text?
No server upload is used for the current comparison.
Why is an entire paragraph marked?
Line-based comparison treats a changed line as a revision even when only a few words differ.
