About this tool
Remove Background separates the main subject from an image and exports a transparent PNG. Processing runs on your device with local portrait and general-purpose segmentation models, so the selected image is not uploaded to OmniTools. The result is suited to product listings, profile pictures and simple design work where a clean transparent subject is needed.

How to use it
- Choose a clear JPG, PNG or WebP image.

Quality and privacy notes
Strong contrast between the subject and background gives the cleanest edge. Hair, glass, fur, motion blur and very busy scenes may need a different source photo. The local model can take longer on a phone because its speed depends on available memory and processor performance.
Important limits
- The tool does not reconstruct hidden parts of a subject.
- Fine transparent objects can lose detail.
- For large images, the browser may reduce the working resolution to avoid a crash.

Does it upload my photo?
No. The current tool processes the image in the browser.
Why are some edges imperfect?
Segmentation estimates the subject boundary. Better lighting and a simpler background usually improve the result.
