Code Diff Checker
Compare source code line by line.
About this tool
Code Diff Checker compares two source-code versions and displays line-level changes. It helps developers review a snippet, configuration file or small patch before applying it. Comparison runs locally and preserves whitespace differences that can matter in code. It is not a compiler, security scanner or substitute for a version-control review.
When it is useful
- Review a small code change before deployment.
- Compare configuration files from two environments.
- Identify altered lines in HTML, CSS, JavaScript or other text code.
How to use it
- Paste the original code into the first editor.
- Paste the proposed version into the second editor.
- Run the diff and inspect every addition and removal.
- Test the chosen code in its real runtime before using it.
Quality and privacy notes
Formatting-only changes can create noisy output. Apply a trusted formatter first if you need a cleaner semantic review. The tool never executes pasted code and does not validate correctness.
Important limits
- No syntax, dependency or security validation is performed.
- Minified code is difficult to compare meaningfully.
- A clean diff does not prove the code is safe.
Frequently asked questions
Does the checker run my code?
No. It treats input as text only.
Can it replace Git?
No. It is designed for quick, small comparisons rather than history, authorship or merging.
